This song was "taught to me" by Nick Cave in a dream. We were having lunch at a table in a school library, which was somehow the school tuckshop/canteen as well. Nick seemed to indicate while singing the song that it was "for the kids". A bit dire seeing as it seemed pretty obviously to me to be about death (but you decide what it's about for yourself). In fact that night, before I went to bed, I learned that my cousin had died and at that same time I was in the middle of several weeks communicating with one of my oldest friends who was dying and indeed passed away during the processing of this tune.
